Hello, my friend!
And happy spring (still!). Or at least I think it is spring. We are at Lake Superior and the waves are crashing well above our 20′ cliff shoreline. I would take a picture, but I just don’t want to go out there! It is blustery and raining and cold and cold and blustery. Yikes!
Since it is too cold to work in my studio, which doesn’t have heat and probably has water dripping in around the door, I thought I’d share my recent waterfall series. My parameters were to make a strong vertical, feeling a bit like a waterfall. I started with some amazing black and whites. (Which I added to to the coral walls in the guest bath just before leaving Florida.) And then added first one color, blue.
And then more colors and horizontal strong scribbles to play against the strong verticals. The series thing fascinates me because there’s always more!
I spent the later part of last week making some collage papers for the next series Quiet. Honestly, I can’t wait for spring to come back so I can get back to creating. I’m also hoping to film on YouTube this next week. So perhaps check for me there.
